摘要: In this Chapter we describe the experimental studies of ultrafast carrier dynamics and all-optical switching in semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) using terahertz (THz) techniques. first part chapter capture into QDs, thermionic release from QDs with (sub-)picosecond time resolution, optical pump–THz probe measurements. second investigate direct manipulation confinement potential by an electric field a strong THz pulse. The resulting THz-driven quantum-confined Stark effect leads to modulation ground-state absorption QDs. Dynamically, such THz-induced electro-absorption (near-)instantaneously follows absolute value pulse, providing capability for Tbit/s—rate signals. principles techniques used our studies: probe, pump–optical spectroscopies, strong-field generation, are also described chapter.
