摘要: The chapter is to reflect Professor Walter Isard’s scientific reasoning and contributions formulating spatial models for urban regional systems shed light on developing a framework modeling future cities. We need alternative cities regions more than ever now in of rapidly changing socio-economic environmental challenges that we have been confronted with face the near future. Among others, I would identify following four major recent developments force us consider models: (a) Rapid growth Global Urbanization (b) Unlimited computing capability (c) Pervasive use instantly available Information Communication tools (d) Shift from Personal Communal Ownership Automobiles
