摘要: Lewis and Fischer inbred rat strains differ in behavioral biochemical responses to psychoactive drugs: rats show greater drugs than they fail adaptations the mesolimbic dopamine system after chronic drug exposure, contrast outbred rats. This suggests that may initial, reinforcing effects of drugs, but not seen exposure occurs with maintenance drug-reinforced behavior. Thus, present study tested whether these acquisition or intravenous cocaine self-administration. Acquisition self-administration was examined separate groups were allowed 15 days acquire operant at one three doses (0.25, 0.5, 1.0 mg/kg/infusion). Compared rats, acquired fewer training trials lower doses. After maintenance, both showed characteristic extinction responding saline substitution dose-related cocaine, although tended higher response rates. Finally, plasma levels, obtained an infusion (1.0 mg/kg), no strain differences suggesting difference due pharmacokinetics. These be related reported system. Further, because is animal model vulnerability addiction, useful factors underlying such vulnerability.
