摘要: Abstract In this paper, we investigate the characteristics of shelf mud depocenters off South Brazil, between latitudes 27°30′S and 24°30′S. A combination geochronological, textural (grain-size), geochemical (metals eNd values) analyses allowed to recognize different deposits in area. It was possible changes sedimentation rates along with each sediment core, despite a relative homogeneity nature terrigenous sediments. The Rio de La Plata discharge confirmed as primary source sediments area study. Also, it is limited local contribution from adjacent land coastal depocenters. Finally, identify distinct deposited north study area, probably function transport by Brazil Current. Our findings attest complexity origin southern Brazilian well need for more detailed works source-to-sink on shelf, which potential fate anthropogenic compounds.
