摘要: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), an important regulator of cell physiology, was identified some 10 years ago and has, since then, been recognised as the major relatively specific for cells (reviewed in Ferrara Davis-Smyth 1997). VEGF is a dimeric glycoprotein, closely related to placenta (PIGF). Both PIGF are distantly structure platelet-derived factors A B (PDGF PDGF B) (Heldin et al. 1993). Three novel belonging family VEGF, two PDGFs were recently discovered. These factors, termed vascular B/VEGF-related (VEGF-B/VRF) (Grimmond 1996; Olofsson 1996a), C/VEGF-related protein (VEGF-C/VRP) (Joukov Lee 1996)] c-fos-induced (F1GF) (Orlandini 1996) share structural features typical VEGF/PDGF family. The prominent similarities between VEGF-related several which target cells, FIGF suggest possibility that F1GF also targets despite its identification fibroblast factor. Based on these criteria, we propose name should be changed VEGF-D indicate functional relatedness other VEGFs.
