摘要: The solfatara field is a unique ecosystem characterized by harsh conditions such as acidic soils. We examined the respiration rate and phospholipid fatty acid (PLFA) content of soils their responses to carbon nitrogen addition determine whether soil microbial biomass in are limited substrate availability. Soil samples were collected from locations along transect across Oita Prefecture, Japan. central part was highly (pH 2.4) contained low amounts nitrogen. Low basal rates detected these samples. Measurements substrate-induced (SIR) PLFA contents suggested that it partly attributable biomass. Addition source (glucose) engendered marked increase rate, whereas (ammonium nitrate) application had no effect. both caused nearly eightfold threefold total contents. These results suggest some acidophilic and/or acid-tolerant microorganisms exist soil, but
