摘要: The biologic effects of stable strontium, a naturally occurring trace element in the diet and body, have been little investigated. This paper discusses oral supplementation with strontium laboratory studies clinical investigations. extent intestinal absorption various doses orally administered was estimated by determining serum tissue levels atomic spectrophotometry. central observation is that increased intake produces direct increase intracellular uptake strontium. results these studies, as well those other investigators, demonstrate moderate dosage does not adversely affect level calcium either or soft tissues. In patients receiving 1 to 1.5 g/d gluconate, sustained produced 100-fold strontium:calcium ratio. rats, indicate an content following may exert protective effect on mitochondrial structure, probably means stabilizing membranes. ratio animals standard higher cell than extracellular fluid; this be physiologic significance. An density corresponded deposition observed areas bone lesions due metastatic cancer supplementation. suggests possibility using mineralize osteophenic relieve pain. Also, because reports inverse relation between incidence dental caries high drinking water, use natural water containing relatively should considered. each instances it important maintain normal dietary calcium.
