Intrauterine occupancy controls expression of the parathyroid hormone-related peptide gene in preterm rat myometrium.

摘要: The parathyroid hormone (PTH) and hormone-related peptide (PTHRP) genes are members of a gene family. Whereas PTH is classical hormone, mounting evidence suggests that the PTHRP may have predominately local actions. We report here expressed in rat myometrium, with major peak mRNA expression occurring 48 hr immediately preceding parturition. A similar content was found tissue extracts by biological immunological assays, but could not be detected peripheral circulation or uterine vein plasma during late gestation. By situ hybridization histochemistry, demonstrated both longitudinal circular layers smooth muscle absent endometrium. rise myometrial gestation dependent upon intrauterine occupancy; it greatly reduced nongravid horns. These findings indicate preterm myometrium under control stimulus suggest play paracrine autocrine role uterus antepartum period, possibly involving contractility.
