摘要: The concept of legacy has emerged in the twenty-first century as a dominant narrative within mega-event projects. Accordingly, event hosts now engage detailed planning. This often means creating new agencies and plans; something that important implications for wider urban governance paper focuses on initiatives attached to 2012 Olympic Games London. One main aims staging was regenerating East London; pre-event planning (2000–2012) associated with this promise is focus here. Using evidence collected from primary secondary research, records how arrangements evolved over 2000–2012. It suggests that, rather than process driven by corporate interests public–private partnerships, London best understood government intervention de-risked private-sector investors.
