摘要: This study shows step by the application of particle swarm optimization (PSO) method to solve problem optimal allocation and sizing multiple static compensators (STATCOM) in a medium size power network (45 bus system, part Brazilian network). The PSO is proposed as an alternative methodology for traditional heuristic approaches complicated mixed integer linear non programming methods. Simulation results show suitability technique finding solutions (Pareto front) with reasonable computational effort. As this study, setting parameters investigated different system load conditions are tested determine impact over location each STATCOM unit
