摘要: Nipah virus provides one of the most striking examples an emerging and illustrates many pathways leading from a wildlife reservoir to human infections. Prior 1998 there had been no reports disease wildlife, domestic animals or humans that would subsequently be considered infection with virus. Despite emergence related virus, Hendra, number years before was nothing herald sudden appearance this which in itself is surprising given regularity outbreaks since it appeared. However, characterization Hendra paved way for identification causative agent Malaysian pigs farm workers assisted recognition source pathway humans. This chapter will provide background overview consider likely other global locations.
