Morphological study of extraocular muscle proprioceptor alterations in congenital strabismus.

摘要: The sensorial structures located at the myotendinous junction of extraocular muscles patients suffering from congenital strabismus have been studied. Important alterations these receptors observed, both light and electron microscopy. appear smaller, with an inner capsule dividing tendinous component into irregularly shaped compartments. At microscopy it is possible to identify: (1) still possessing their architecture nerve but modified ending features relationship Schwann cell covering; (2) maintaining general completely lacking component; (3) where also disorganized. All seem indicate that in strabismics reception transmission proprioceptive information are abnormal support hypothesis a disturbance ocular proprioception can play important role pathogenesis strabismus.
