摘要: Abstract Santolina chamaecyparissus is an important medicinal plant growing in the Mediterranean region and has been reported as a potent anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antioxidant, antifungal agent. The purpose of current research to identify chemical constituents ethyl acetate extract (EAE) from leaves S. chamaecyparissus, evaluate antidiabetic, anticancer activity. Chemical EAE were identified by GC-MS, antidiabetic activity was evaluated α-glucosidase inhibition assay. assessed Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) expression human breast cancer cell line (MCF7) using quantitative RT-PCR method. GC-MS analysis yielded 44 compounds. Tetrapentacontane (27.15%), eicosyl (8.40%), 2-methylhexacosane (6.87%), n-pentadecanol (5.44%) found major constituents. showed concentration dependant enzyme IC50 value (IC50 110 ± 4.25 µg/mL) comparable with standard acarbose 105 ± 3.74 µg/mL). real-time qRT-PCR results that EGFR protein (bcl-2) negatively expressed −0.69297105 after treatment (100 µg/mL). study are suggesting possible use management diabetes, cancer.
