摘要: Diabetes mellitus is one of the disease for which a satisfactory treatment not available in modern allopathic system medicine. Therefore, there need to develop newer strategies plant origin as they are known have fewer side effects. The present study investigated possible therapeutic effects Balanite aegyptiaca kernel cake on certain biochemical markers alloxan-induced diabetes rats. was induced albino rats by single intraperitoneal injection Alloxan (70mg/kg body weight). Normal diet supplemented with 10% and 20% Balanites were fed diabetic three weeks. blood glucose, albumin, urea, creatinine, total cholesterol, triglyceride activities liver marker enzymes aspartate aminotransferase, alanine alkaline phosphatase examined serum control treated groups. Supplementation Three weeks significantly reduced glucose (451.80 ± 5.4 408.60 1.8), urea (429.30±1.10 203.40± 4.1), creatinine (2.05±0.05 1.80±0.21) but increased levels albumin (3.14±0.07 3.50±0.01), restored all near normal levels. results showed that has an antihyperglycaemic antihyperlipidemic effect consequently may alleviate renal damage associated -induced
