摘要: Type 2 diabetes has become a global epidemic. Modern medicines, despite offering variety of effective treatment options, can have several adverse effects. Ayurveda, science that uses herbal medicines extensively, originated in India. Of considerable interest is the adoption Ayurveda by mainstream medical system some European countries (e.g., Hungary), emphasizing this modality increasing worldwide recognition. From ancient times, these preparations been used diabetes. This paper reviews accumulated literature for 10 Indian herbs antidiabetic activity and scientifically tested. Few herbs, such as Momordica charantia, Pterocarpus marsupium, Trigonella foenum greacum, reported to be beneficial treating type Mechanisms stimulating or regenerating effect on beta cells extrapancreatic effects are proposed hypoglycemic action herbs.
