Histochemical and ultrastructural investigation on the endocrine cells of the stomach in hypersecreting (pylorus-ligated) rats

摘要: To get new information on the patho-physiology of endocrine cells gastric mucosa and to investigate their role in secretion, an histochemical electronmicroscopical investigation has been undertaken during experimental acute hypersecretion induced rats by pyloric ligation (Shay rats). Of various types cells, ECL (entero-chromaffine-like) fundic showed ultrastructural evidences marked activity (partial degranulation, formation pro-granules, increase ribosomes enlargement rough endoplasmic reticulum). By techniques, interpreted as a progressive decrease argyrophilia, dopamine storage after L-DOPA administration, histamine content. Other cell types, such A-like EC were apparently unaffected. The antral G appeared, electron microscope, be fully granulated therefore probably inactive. It is concluded that, pylorus-ligated rats: Since Shay believed due vagal reflex, it can suggested that under control, play secretion.
