摘要: The Mariana Islands lie well within the vast "malaria-free" region of central and south Pacific Ocean. However, Anopheles indefinitus was discovered on Guam in 1948, an additional four species were collected island during 1970-75. Early malaria cases diagnosed as relapsing infections with disease having been contracted other areas. Small outbreaks recorded 1966 1969, autochthonous indicated both. Since vector capability for does exist Guam, quarantine procedures at air seaports combined public health surveillance integrated anopheline control program are recommended island.
