摘要: Gravimetric, radiotracer, and indicator methods currently available for estimating assimilation efficiencies, have been reviewed their associated limitations discussed. It was concluded that the basic assumption implicit to gravimetric techniques, i.e. all material contained within faeces is derived from food, does not generally hold. Radiotracer techniques are based on this but time consuming. Consequently a new radiotracer technique analogous has developed. In concentration of non-absorbed expressed in terms 14C, which can be absorbed which, at least initially, only present rather than expressing it dry weight. 51Cr used as nonabsorbed indicator.
