摘要: The purpose of this study was to identify relationships between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the genes Wnt pathway and bone mineral density (BMD) postmenopausal women. We chose due its importance metabolism that underlined several studies. DNA samples 932 Hungarian women were studied. First, their BMD values at different sites (spine, total hip) measured, using a Lunar Prodigy DXA scanner. Thereafter, T-score patients’ body mass indices (BMIs) calculated, while information about fracture history sample population also collected. genotyped nine SNPs following three genes: LRP5, GPR177, SP7, Sequenom MassARRAY Analyzer 4 instrument. genomic used for genotyping extracted from buccal mucosa subjects. Statistical analyses carried out SPSS 21 R package. results analysis showed significant association SNP rs4988300 LRP5 gene hip values. could not reveal any associations markers phenotypes. found no effect these genotypes on risk. demonstrate gene–gene interaction two (rs4988300 rs634008, p = 0.009) which lost after Bonferroni correction. firmly largest homogeneous group analyzed date. Our finding corroborates relationship genotype phenotype women, however, complete mechanism requires further investigations.
