摘要: When a short, intense flash of light is absorbed by the outer segments squid photoreceptors fixed in glutaraldehyde, voltage appears briefly across retina. The waveform depends on relative amounts rhodopsin and its various stable photoproducts present at beginning flash. Each light-absorbing species contributes characteristic component which summed gross waveform. heating effect produces small, long-lasting thermoelectric as well. this thermal corrected for, interconversion equal numbers acid metarhodopsin molecules results fast whose time integral zero. Thus charge flowing one direction retina when converted to photon apparently exactly reversed reconverted another.
