摘要: The ability of many arthropods to analyze plane polarized light is a fascinating sensory capacity only poorly developed in our own eyes. Experimental work the last several years has shown that this capability based on properties photoreceptor cells. SHAW (1967, 1968) showed pairs retinular cells, believed be same ommatidium because congruent visual fields, could differ polarization which they were optimally sensitive. This experiment provides strong evidence against an analyzer dioptric structures, for such should common all photoreceptors single retinula.
