摘要: The mechanical response of a metallic stent is considered in this series two papers. In Part I, the development test method for characterization aortic subjected to internal or external pressure, and model that captures relationship between pressure diameter based on slender rod theory are described. axial radial deformation bare-metal were measured as was loading ranging from an about 80 mm Hg 160 Hg. applied using polyethylene bag; applying measuring strains found provide accurate determination behavior stent. shown exhibit stiff limiting states corresponding fully collapsed expanded diameters intermediate range where stiffness order magnitude smaller than typical aorta. A complete mathematical pressure-diameter wire also developed; straightforward application rods problem Excellent agreement with experimental measurements indicated, opening possibility modeling coupled vessel into which it inserted. II, we consider effect variations over length introduce changes along leads naturally formulation scent within blood vessel.
