摘要: S-Nitrosylation, the modification of a cysteine thiol by nitric oxide (NO) group, has emerged as an important posttranslational signaling proteins. An impediment to studying regulation cell S-nitrosylation been technical challenge detecting endogenously S-nitrosylated Detection proteins is difficult because S-NO bond labile and therefore can be lost or gained artifactually during sample preparation. Nevertheless, several methods have developed measure endogenous protein S-nitrosylation, including biotin switch assay chemical reduction/chemiluminescence assay. This chapter describes these two provides examples how they used successfully elucidate role in physiology pathophysiology.
