摘要: Reduced first-trimester concentrations of placental protein 13 (PP13) are associated with subsequent development preeclampsia, a major pregnancy disorder. We previously showed that PP13 has vasodilatory effect, reduces blood pressure and augments expansive remodeling the uteroplacental vasculature in pregnant rats. In this study, slow-release osmotic pumps were implanted gravid rats (on day 8) to provide 1 week supplementation. Treatment was reversible reduction returned normal on 15. addition, caused venous expansion is larger branches closer placenta. Then, it increased pup weights. Similar administration truncated variant (DelT221) unable bind carbohydrates (a rare spontaneous mutation high frequency severe early preeclampsia among Blacks South Africa) produced hypotensive effect similar full-length molecule, but without These results indicate importance carbohydrate binding for inducing vascular improving reproductive outcome. Future studies needed determine whether beneficial effects would be evident animal models or women predisposed preeclampsia.
