Polymorphism in propyl gallate recrystallized with acetone

摘要: A new polymorphic form of the synthetic antioxidant propyl gallate was obtained by recrystallization compound in acetone. The characterized thermogravimetry, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray powder diffractometry, and near- middle-infrared region spectroscopy. While commercial starts to melt at 145 °C with maximum temperature peak 150 °C, recrystallized 140 °C 148.8 °C. two forms differ much diffractograms pattern, confirming change long-distance interactions both but spectroscopy shows that no difference occurs inter- intramolecular interactions.
