One-stage photoinitiated RAFT dispersion polymerization - Reaction parameters for achieving high particle size uniformity

摘要: Abstract One-stage photoinitiated RAFT dispersion polymerization (PRDP) has been studied. It was found that the structure of agent a strong influence on particle morphology. Carboxyl-functionalized trithiocarbonates, including S,S′-bis(α,α′-dimethyl-α″-acetic acid) trithiocarbonate (BDMAT), S-1-dodecyl-S′-(α,α′-dimethyl-α″-acetic (DDMAT), S-1-ethyl-S′-(α,α′-dimethyl-α″-acetic (EDMAT), were to be suitable agents for preparing highly monodisperse microspheres. GPC traces suggested does not follow typical controlled/living process due low concentration in comparison with photoinitiator concentration. Particle size and uniformity changed very little wide range concentrations stabilizer photoinitiator. Highly microspheres obtained even at (5 wt% PVP). Increasing monomer led an increase diameter exponent 0.63, which is similar scale conventional polymerization. The ranging from 5 15 wt%.
