摘要: This study evaluates the efficacy of combination an antiangiogenic drug and conventional chemotherapeutics for treatment experimental human gliomas. As antiangiogenic, we used recombinant PEX, a fragment matrix metalloproteinase-2 that have previously shown to significant antimitotic, anti-invasive, properties against glioblastoma in vitro vivo. We carboplatin etoposide as two chemotherapeutic drugs routinely our institution (Ospedale Maggiore de Milano) malignant Conventional were administered at high dose or low semicontinuous regimen. Combined high-dose chemotherapy PEX did not produce improvement survival comparison with alone, but it was associated decrease tumor volume, vascularity, proliferative index increased apoptosis. All these animals experienced severe side effects. The longest documented submitted treatment. regimen no effects, marked index, Our data suggest low-dose can be successfully glioma
