摘要: Interleukin-6 (IL-6) induces either differentiation or growth of a variety cells. Little is known about the molecular basis this cellular decision. The family signal transducer and activator transcription (Stat) proteins are involved in signaling through cytokine factor receptors, although their biological roles have not been established. To address whether Stat play IL-6-induced differentiation, we introduced two types mutant Stat3 acting dominant-negative manner into M1 leukemic cells which respond to IL-6 with arrest terminal differentiation. We show that forms inhibited both at G(0)/G1 macrophage transformants. Blocking activation resulted inhibition repression c-myb c-myc. Furthermore, enhanced primarily shortening length G1 period when was suppressed. Thus generates growth-enhancing signals arrest- differentiation-inducing same time. may be key molecule determines decision from cell
