摘要: Abstract While the shortage of water and energy is a well-recognized worldwide natural resources issue, little attention has been given to irrigation efficiency. In this paper, we examine potential savings that can be achieved by implementing improved technologies in China. The use management measures such as flow meter, scheduling, and/or regular maintenance upgrades, typically reduces amount pumped over course growing season. total saved applying these could reach 20%, compared with traditional methods. Two methods conveyance earth canal low pressure pipeline (LPPI) were also evaluated. Our study indicated LPPI save 6.48×109 kWh yr−1 when applied 11 Chinese provinces. Also, CO2 emission was reduced 6.72 metric tons per year. Among surveyed provinces, saving for two Hebei Shandong, 1.45×109 yr−1. Using LPPI, emissions other 20 provinces estimated at about 2.97×109 2.69 year, respectively. Heilongjiang, major agriculture province, 1.77×109 yr−1, which largest all If entire country, average annual more than 9 billion reduction 9.0 realized. Rice one users world's fresh resources. Compared continuous flooding irrigation, intermittent (ITI) improve yield water-use efficiency paddy fields. increments net output ITI fields across China 2.5×1016 calories 107 tons, So far only small part agricultural land adopted technologies. Therefore, adapting technology significant should carefully studied applied.
