摘要: The rise of opioid prescriptions and associated deaths ('opioid epidemic') in North America has evoked worldwide discussions on the long-term efficacy safety therapy (LtOT) for chronic noncancer pain (CNCP). We discuss if epidemic is a real or more American phenomenon. consider reasons epidemic. highlight differences appraisal evidence recent systematic reviews LtOT CNCP US European authors. similarities guidelines CNCP. point out potential indications contraindications syndromes.
