摘要: Comparative antihyperlipidaemic efficacy of Trachyspermum ammi (L) Sprague (Ajowain) extracts in chloroform, methanol, petroleum ether and water was investigated albino rabbits. Hyperlipidaemia induced with butter fed ad libitum oral intubation cholesterol 400 mg/kg body weight. Simvastatin used as a synthetic lowering drug. The results suggested that chloroform T. seed had no hypolipidaemic activity. However, methanol equivalent to its 2 g/kg weight powder (0.6 weight) were equally effective treating hyperlipidaemia Moreover, extract appeared be more potent than on the basis increasing level HDL-cholesterol LDL-cholesterol effectively extract. Petroleum reduced atherogenic index (total cholesterol/HDL-cholesterol)
