摘要: Abstract Introduction Despite availability of effective treatment options proven to prevent osteoporotic fractures, a huge gap in osteoporosis exists. The aim the present study was evaluate rate after major fracture (MOF) Austria, one 25 wealthiest countries worldwide. Methods This analysis is based on data International Costs and Utilities Related Osteoporotic Fractures Study (ICUROS), prospective observational assessing from patients who suffered MOF. We stratified these by status at time compared use following MOF sex as well sites index fracture, 4, 12, 18 months thereafter. Descriptive statistics, t-tests for continuous variables chi-squared tests nominal variables, were performed compare groups. Results A total 915 (78% female) recruited 8 different trauma centers throughout Austria. At 731 (80%) did not receive treatment. In this group, follow-up 12 revealed 18%, 16%, 15% women, 8%, 12%, 10% men, respectively. those received medication 65%, 54% 60% comparable results men.
