摘要: The aminothiol N-acetyl-l-cysteine (NAC) is an analog and precursor of reduced glutathione (GSH). During the last four decades, it has been extensively used as a mucolytic agent. In addition, because its multiple protective mechanisms, NAC proposed for broad array applications, both preventive therapeutic. scientific community continuously growing interest in this molecule, which being with increasing frequency clinical investigations experimental studies. As February 1, 2002, total 5153 papers were available MEDLINE under query term “acetylcysteine,” impressive growth during 10 years. one month alone (January 2002), 134 new added to database.
