摘要: Alternative sprout inhibitors were tested for their efficacy in retaining processing quality of potatoes during long term storage. Carvone, dimethylnaphthalene and ethylene compared to the commercial standard, CIPC, (isopropyl N-(3-chlorophenyl) carbamate) an air control, effects on development, fry color sugar content potato tubers, 25 weeks storage at 9C. All treatments reduced sprouting although amount varied among treatments. At end week period, based total weight maximum length was, order from least most, carvone, ethylene, DMN air. Poorer due darker higher levels reducingsugars sucrose accured ethylene-treated potatoes. If properly applied, these could be commercially acceptable, each may have practical advantages disadvantages.
