摘要: Liver failure is associated with a high morbidity and mortality rate the seventh leading cause of death worldwide. Orthotopic liver transplantation remains definitive treatment; however, because limited number available organs many patients expire while on transplant list. Currently, there are no established means for providing support as bridging to or allowing recovery from injury. Analogous clinical situation renal failure, great interest in developing systems that replace metabolic waste removal functions liver. These two general types: artificial bioartificial livers. In this review, based presentation 57th American Society Artificial Internal Organs Annual Meeting (Washington, D.C., June 2011), we review current status systems.
