摘要: Eukaryotic cilia and flagella are cytoskeletal organelles that remarkably conserved from protists to mammals. Their basic unit is the axoneme, a well-defined cylindrical structure composed of microtubules up 250 associated proteins. These complex assembled by dynamic process called intraflagellar transport. Flagella perform diverse motility sensitivity functions in many different organisms. Trypanosomes flagellated protozoa, responsible for various tropical diseases such as sleeping sickness Chagas disease. In this review, we first describe general knowledge on flagellum: its occurrence living world, molecular composition, mode assembly, with special emphasis exciting developments followed discovery We then present recent progress regarding characteristics trypanosome flagellum, highlighting original contributions brought organism. The most striking phenomenon involvement flagellum several aspects cell cycle, including morphogenesis, basal body migration, cytokinesis.
