摘要: Lack of blue oak (Quercus douglasii) saplings and seedlings throughout much its range has prompted research into the regeneration status species. Our ability to assess whether current lack is a natural pattern or response human induced environmental change limited by data on history establishment. This study presents age stand structure collected from three sites Tejon Ranch, in Tehachapi Mountains. Over half trees aged became established during 1850s, whereas almost no new have come last 120 years. The evidence suggests that recruitment been strongly influenced changes fire frequency land use.
