摘要: It is well established that infective endocarditis (IE) involving the HACEK (Hemophilus, Actinobacillus, Cardiobacter, Eikenella, Kingella) group of microbes occurs in patients with congenital heart defects (CHD) and those prosthetic grafts. Dental caries gingival disease have been presumed to be focus microbial shedding. The purpose this study was determine if children CHD had a more severe inflammatory condition harbored greater extent than normal children. Two groups 12 age sex matched were selected for study. experimental consisted twelve CHD, 1-1/2 8 years age. control healthy 2 Each child index score recorded as described by Massler. Subgingival cultures obtained. Gingival samples cultured total Streptococcus (spp) using standard techniques. Fisher's exact test performed significance defined at P < 0.05. Children (P 0.05). 8/12 patient Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans (A.a.) compared 2/12 controls Furthermore, all cyanotic (4/4) A.a. whereas, only did 4/12 Eikenella corrodens (E.c.) 1/12 (N.S.). There no significant difference colonization E.c. or between acyanotic patients. No found two groups. This suggests are colonized specific so
