摘要: Radiation oncologists recognize a continuing need to improve the radiation dose distribution between cancer and surrounding normal tissue. A most promising method of accomplishing this goal is use charged particle beam irradiation, clinical which has been investigated for past 40 years. Since first studies began at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in 1954, more than 5,000 patients have treated with protons, using accelerators designed physics laboratories. Superior results are reported control selected diseases by ten facilities currently investigating proton therapy. The findings resulted expansion plans several these facilities, formulation two new facilities. We report on planned development facility Loma Linda University, contracted Fermi National Accelerator design fabrication 250 MeV synchrotron its transport delivery systems. This will be world employ accelerator dedicated medical service research. As such, it available as an international resource develop modality.
