摘要: Clinical trials evaluating HIV-related diarrhea have used varied unidimensional end points to assess severity. We hypothesized that a self-reported measure of assesses stool form, frequency, and morbidity would accurately portray the severity diarrhea. During clinical trial for diarrhea, we evaluated instrument among 17 patients, comparing survey results with objective measures recorded concurrently. The scores demonstrated consistently high Spearman correlations nursing assessment form (0.6693), observed frequency (0.7023), cumulative weight (0.8216), all over six days intensive inpatient observation (P < 0.01 each). Of three components survey, only assessment, which uses pictorial representations consistency, correlated significantly across (0.8069-0.8792). In demonstrating concurrent, criterion-related validity this found it helpful suggest its utility HIV-seronegative subjects as well.
