摘要: The dentate gyrus of the hippocampus is uniquely organized with a displaced proliferative zone that continues to generate granule cells throughout life. We have analyzed expression Notch receptors, ligands, and basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) genes during development determine whether need maintain pool undifferentiated precursors reflected in patterns these genes. Many are expressed diffusely cortical neuroepithelium at embryonic days 16 17 rat, just preceding migration newly born precursor into anlage. However, this time, Mash1, Math3, Id3 all concentrated area specifically gives rise cells. Two later, time first cells, expressing Mash1 seen migratory route from subventricular developing gyrus. Newly NeuroD also present pathway. In postnatal week, reside hilus, by third week they largely taken up their final position subgranular along hilar side cell layer. After terminal differentiation, hilus or begin express followed NeuroD2. This study establishes bHLH mRNAs evolve formation gyrus, resident mature share features found development. Thus, many same mechanisms known regulate fate size other brain regions likely be operative stages
