摘要: Objective. To perform an initial screening study of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) contamination in ambulance fleet. Methods. This was a cross-sectional MRSA fleet operating the western United States June 2006. Five specific areas within each 21 ambulances (n = 105) were tested for using dacron swabs moistened with 0.85% sterile saline solution. These samples then plated onto media mannitol salt agar containing 6.5% NaCl and4 mcg/mL oxacillin. Results. Thirteen isolated from 10 (47.6%) sample group positive MRSA. Conclusions. The results this preliminary suggest that emergency medical services (EMS) system may have significant degree andmay represent important reservoir transmission potentially serious infections to patients.
