摘要: The Arctic is rapidly transforming due to sea ice loss, increasing shipping activity, and oil gas development. Associated marine combustion emissions influence atmospheric aerosol composition, impacting complex aerosol–cloud–climate feedbacks. To improve understanding of the sources processes determining particles were collected aboard Korean icebreaker R/V Araon cruising within Bering Strait Chukchi Sea during August 2016. Offline analyses individual by microspectroscopic techniques, including scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy atomic force infrared spectroscopy, provided information on particle size, morphology, chemical composition. most commonly observed types spray (SSA), comprising ∼60–90%, number, supermicron particles, organic (OA), ∼50–90%, submicron particles. Sulfate nitrate internally mixed both SSA OA consistent multiphase reactions transport. Within Strait, more aged, greater number fractions containing sulfate and/or nitrate, compared over Sea. This indicative pollution from coastal inland sources, while primarily influenced sources.
