摘要: Mitochondria are pivotal organelles involved in the regulation of a myriad crucial biological processes, including cell survival and death, rendering mitochondrial dysfunction relevant step numerous pathophysiological processes. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) endogenous small noncoding RNAs that add new layer complexity to control gene expression. miRNAs function as master regulators fine-tuners expression, primarily via posttranscriptional mechanisms, increasingly demonstrated paramount class molecules with diagnostic, prognostic, therapeutic applications. other RNA interference have recently been reported be present mitochondria from several species, we now beginning unveil miRNA transport targets ascertain their role this unexplored niche. Here, describe biogenesis key findings regarding localization mitochondria, origin, putative function, implications for human disease.
