The role of guarantor in scientific collaboration: The neighbourhood matters

摘要: Output resulting from institutional collaboration has been widely used to create performance indicators, but focusing on research guarantors recently provided a way recognize the salient role of certain scientific actors. This paper elaborates this approach characterize an institution as guarantor based not only its output also importance institutions with which it collaborates. Accepting that guarantorship implies in some acknowledgement prominent part collaborating institutions, and recognition will be more important describes two approaches measuring discusses their effectiveness helping actors by using case study Library Information Science field. The results show high assortativity relationships, confirming original hypothesis tend grant prestigious relevance.
