摘要: The tunica albuginea and corpus cavernosum from patients with Peyronie's disease (PD), veno-occlusive dysfunction (VOD), those normal control subjects were studied by transmission electron microscopy immunohistochemical staining for type I, III, V collagens, platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) AA BB homodimers, PDGF alpha beta receptors. Ultrastructural modifications resembling a fibrotic reaction detected in the two pathological albuginea, but not subjects. data demonstrated general increase fibrous amorphous extracellular matrix material albuginea. probably represents glycoproteins proteoglycans. material, representing collagen, appears disorganized tissue does display typical homogeneous diameter, size, spatial arrangement. Large areas of intracytoplasmic, partially degraded, fibers are visible. An increased I/III collagen ratio was immunohistochemistry Moreover, strong expression correlated to fibroblasts, revealed. Fibroblasts tissues, on other hand, totally negative. Finally, positive fibroblasts negative tissues. receptor fibroblasts. Tunica PD VOD show similar ultrastructural alterations, whereas cavemosum shows no visible modifications.
