摘要: Female (Exp. I) or male II) weanling rats were fed diets containing either 2% Solka-Floc agar for 28-day periods. Some groups received 1% cholesterol, added in crystalline form first dispersed the oil portion of diet, and some their diet a gelled form. Feces collected 3-day period after 2 weeks during fourth week experimentation. Serum liver total lipids, fecal sterols determined. The results indicated that cholesterol feeding increased serum liver, sterols. Substitution dry (nongelled) further lipids I), but had no significant effect upon any other measured parameter. Gelling diets, contrast to resulted reduced both experiments. significantly II), differences observed 4 when compared cholesterol-fed groups. Small, nonsignificant increases with similar reduction from dispersing prior mixing. indicate (a) inclusion rat (b) little serum, rats. However, gelling possibly by initial dietary absorption.
