摘要: Since mobile devices are battery powered, several TV standards dictate using energy saving schemes to increase the viewing time on devices. The most common scheme for is make the base station broadcast the video data of a channel in bursts with bit rate much higher than encoding stream, which enables turn off their radio frequency circuits when not receiving bursts. While broadcasting saves energy, it increases switching delay. delay an important performance metric, because long and variable delays annoying users and may them away from service. In this paper, we first analyze burst currently used many deployed networks, we show that it is efficient terms controlling We then propose new guarantee given maximum exceeded consumption minimized. prove the correctness proposed derive closed-form equations achieved saving. also implement the testbed practicability validate our theoretical analysis.
