摘要: We assessed the clinical and parasitological efficacy of six-dose regimen artemether-lumefantrine (AL) (Coartem) for treating uncomplicated P. falciparum malaria three years after its introduction into Ethiopia. A total 102 patients (mean age: 15.7 years; age range: 1-50 years) were enrolled in study followed-up 28 days based on WHO protocol. Treatment with AL resulted 100% adequate response (ACPR). No severe side-effect drug was observed. All had rapid responses. None subject found to be positive asexual or sexual stage parasite day 3. significant increase mean haemoglobin level observed posttreatment (11.4 g/dL 0 vs 12.3 28, p < 0.05). Thus, artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) seem mitigate not only problem resistance but also transmission disease. Nevertheless, monitoring ACT therapeutic is crucial
