摘要: Objective : To document baseline data on the efficacy and safety of artemetherlumefantrine for treatment uncomplicated falciparum malaria in Ethiopia. Design Patients diagnosed P. , who were treated with six doses artemether-lumefantrine over three days, followed 28 days outcomes classified based WHO (2003) protocol. Setting Four health facilities located malarious areas two regions: Alamata Humera hospitals Tigray region Assendabo Nazareth Oromia region. Subjects body weight more than 10 kgs, excluding pregnant women, or their guardians consented to participate study after fulfilling inclusion criteria enrolled a follow-up period days. Main outcome measures Proportion success adverse drug effects that required discontinuation and/or follow-up. Results A total 213 patients fulfilled enrolment completed artemether-lumefantrine. rate 99.1% (95% confidence interval [CI] 96.9, 99.8) no complaints related withdrawal from was reported. Treatment not achieved (0.9%) subjects whom fever peripheral parasitaemia demonstrated day 21 28. The blood samples failure cases PCR corrected. Conclusion artemisinin combination has shown very high (99.1%) clinical parasitological cure reports reaction In presence low sulfadoxinepyrimethamine, chloroquine amodiaquine, use is best choice East African Medical Journal Vol. 82(8) 2005: 387-390
